If you go to and go to your account, you can turn off the auto renewal feature. Sirius is a huge scam and Quicken has become one. Sure, you can get deals for three months or six months, but if you forget to cancel before it auto-renews, it's another $229. What are we going to do when someone at Quicken decides Sirius XM has a great model? You get it at a deep discount at the start, but then it auto-renews at $229/year. If you owned a Chevy and every three years Chevy sent a signal to your car to stop it from running properly so that you have to buy a new car every three years unless you are willing to be without radio and AC and heat and no headlights so that you can drive only during the day, would you find that acceptable?

But it doesn't make up for the fact that they are crippling the version I paid for in order to force me to upgrade to a version and subscription plan I do not want. Might I use it if I can just write the check in Quicken and it will shoot it off to the vendor? Yes, because at least it wouldn't require duplicate entries on a website and in Quicken. I find them easier when it comes to keeping track of stuff. Yes, but I also get that from my bank and I don't use it. That's two to four times the cost per year that I was paying before. But what happens next year? Presumably, the automatic renewal will be at $79.99/year or more, which is the MSRP. Now, the best deal I see (as of today) for Quicken Premiere is two years for $119 (on the Quicken website) or fourteen months for $44.99 on Amazon. It's not quite correct to say "nothing has changed." In the past, I'd upgrade every three years for around $70. Now, if you want to argue the pricing of the subscription.or the horrible product it's become introducing really bad bugs with each and every upgrade.or that they place a horrific subscription renewal reminder pane that takes up 1/4 of your screen space if your subscription expires.then I can hop on board with that.
I'm not much of a Quicken supporter, although I use both Windows and Mac products.but the argument that Quicken has changed their business model by doing something nefarious by "all of a sudden" terminating downloads is nothing new whatsoever. Quicken has had that for at least ten years (maybe more).and the same complaints happen with every year version that had downloads expire, usually around 3 1/2 years. I never understand those complaining about the termination of online/downloading services. Therefore, in reality, nothing has changed EXCEPT the term of the termination is now shorter (anywhere from 12 to 27 months depending on where you purchase the subscription) and the price.
